Ed Kennedy - President

Ed Kennedy has worked in the railroad construction industry for over 25 years. Ed attended Frostburg St. University in Maryland and YSU in Ohio where he studied Economics and Political Science. He began his career as a track laborer in high school and progressed to foremen. Ed worked for RailWorks for eighteen years serving as Area Manager, VP and President of Track Services, traveling all around the US working with multiple customers throughout the rail industry. In June 2018 Ed formed KRS to serve industry clients.

Kevin Kennedy - Vice President

Kevin Kennedy has worked in the railroad construction industry for over 14 years. Kevin attended Kenyon College in Ohio. Kevin has extensive field operations, project estimating, project operations and project management experience. Kevin worked for RailWorks as Project Manager, Operations Manager and Area Manager in Youngstown, Ohio from 2008 to 2016. From 2016 to 2020 Kevin worked as VP of the Central Region for TRAC, where he bid and managed the rebuilding of 15,000 TF and 17 Turnouts. Kevin oversees field operations, business development, estimating, project management, employee training, safety and cost controls for KRS.

Rob Gardner - Vice President

With an impressive legacy spanning over 25 years in the railroad construction industry, Rob brings a wealth of experience to our leadership team. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Rob’s academic foundation has been instrumental in shaping his career. Rob’s journey includes a notable 17-year tenure at Railworks, where he served in key roles such as Area Manager, Director of Sales, and Project Manager. As Vice President of Kennedy Railroad Services, Rob Gardner continues to steer the company towards new heights, blending experience, technical prowess, and a dedication to unparalleled standards.

Jared Clark - Operations/Human Resources

A graduate of Youngstown State University in 2022, Jared holds a major in communications and a minor in sales. His professional narrative unfolds at Simon Roofing, where Jared transitioned from an account manager to an inside sales representative. In January 2023, Jared embraced a new chapter at Kennedy Railroad Services, where his multifaceted role involves overseeing Project Management, Operations, Marketing, and Human Resources. Jared is committed to shaping a future where rail services redefine expectations.

Andy Andreykovich - Vice President of Business Development

Andy has been a driving force in the railroad industry since 1994, accumulating extensive experience and expertise with a focus on business development and customer relations. Andy graduated from Pennsylvania State U with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. His prior leadership roles include contributing significantly to the treated wood products industry. As the Vice President of Sales at Appalachian Timber Services in Sutton WV for 18 years, he orchestrated strategic sales operations, consistently surpassing revenue goals, and played an instrumental role in expanding the company's footprint within the railroad industry.

Michael Koestler - Vice President of Operations

Michael Koestler joined the KRS team in October of 2023, bringing with him a background that includes 43 years of  experience in civil heavy construction. With a comprehensive background in estimating/bidding, project management, labor relations, business development, and field operations. Mike is a distinguished graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. His expertise is further underscored by his status as a Professional Land Surveyor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mike's experience & knowledge enriches our team, reinforcing Kennedy Railroad Services' commitment to excellence and innovation in the industry.

James Shreve- Superintendent

James Shreve is a seasoned professional with over 22 years of experience in the railroad industry. James embarked on his journey in 2001 with Railworks, where he dedicated 16 years honing his skills and expertise. His extensive career path led him to Amtrak from 2017 to 2021, further enriching his understanding of the railway construction industry. In 2021, James made a pivotal move to join our team at Kennedy Railroad Services. JT is responsible for track safety, equipment operations, project management, and crew organization and supervision.

Cody Johnson - Foreman/Operator

With nearly 7 years in the railroad construction industry, Cody’s journey commenced with Railworks before he brought his wealth of expertise to the KRS team in 2018. Cody excels in various key areas, including an in-depth knowledge of railroad construction, strong leadership capabilities, and effective communication skills. As our Foreman, Cody plays a central role in steering projects to success, embodying the commitment to excellence that defines KRS.
